Jesus Warns Against The Scribes
In the crowded courts of the Temple, Jesus has delivered a blistering warning to the multitudes regarding their religious leaders. He told the people to beware of the scribes who love to walk around in long robes, seeking respectful greetings in the marketplaces and the chief seats in the synagogues.
The Master did not mince words, exposing the dark hypocrisy beneath their pious exterior. "They devour widows' houses," He declared, "and for appearance's sake offer long prayers." Jesus warned that these men, who leverage their religious authority for financial gain and social status, will receive a far greater condemnation from God.
