The Spread Of Competing Narratives

As the disciples travel north, competing narratives regarding the events of Passion Week are solidifying in Judea. The chief priests and elders, having bribed the Roman guards, are aggressively spreading the lie that Jesus' disciples came by night and stole His body while the soldiers were asleep. This official narrative is designed to suppress the growing hysteria.

Despite their efforts, the truth is proving impossible to contain. The fact that the tomb is undeniably empty remains the central problem for the authorities. Furthermore, the complete transformation of Jesus' followers from cowardly deserters into confident witnesses is a social anomaly that the "stolen body" theory cannot easily explain away.

"And they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, and said, 'You are to say, "His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep."'"
— Matthew 28:12-13 (LSB)
Timeline Box: The fabrication of the stolen body narrative was launched immediately following the resurrection to counter the truth.

Daniel's Vision Beside The Tigris

On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, the elderly prophet Daniel was standing by the bank of the great river Tigris. After three weeks of mourning and fasting, he lifted his eyes and saw a terrifying, magnificent vision of a man dressed in linen, whose face was like lightning and eyes like flaming torches. The sheer glory of the vision drained Daniel of all his strength.

"On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, while I was by the bank of the great river, that is, the Tigris, I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a certain man dressed in linen..."
— Daniel 10:4-5 (LSB)
Timeline Box: Daniel 10:4 provides this exact, explicit date for one of the most profound angelic encounters in Scripture.

David Brings The Ark To Jerusalem

After an initial, tragic failure, King David is successfully bringing the Ark of the Covenant into his new capital city, Jerusalem. This time, he is doing it according to the Law, with the Levites carrying the Ark on their shoulders. David himself, wearing a linen ephod, is dancing before Yahweh with all his might amidst the sound of trumpets.

"And David was dancing before Yahweh with all his might, and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of Yahweh with shouting..."
— 2 Samuel 6:14-15 (LSB)
Timeline Box: The bringing of the Ark established Jerusalem as both the political and spiritual center of Israel.

Editorial: The Glory Cannot Be Hidden

You cannot hide the glory of God. The Sanhedrin tried to hide the resurrection with bribery and lies, but the empty tomb was too loud to silence. David danced with all his might because the glory of the Ark had finally come to his city, ignoring the scoffers.

On this specific day in history, Daniel saw a vision of glory by the Tigris that completely overwhelmed his physical senses. Whether it is an angel by a river, the Ark entering a city, or the Son of God bursting from a tomb, the truth of God's power will always shatter the false narratives of the world. We must boldly align ourselves with the truth, no matter the cost.
