Paul Arrives In Tyre: Seven Days With Disciples, Spirit Warns Of Peril

After a challenging sea voyage from Miletus, the Apostle Paul and his companions have now arrived in the significant Phoenician port city of Tyre. Their ship is due to unload its cargo here, requiring a seven-day stay. Immediately upon arrival, they sought out and found disciples in the city, providing a much-needed period of fellowship and spiritual refreshment amidst their perilous journey to Jerusalem.

During this time, the Holy Spirit has repeatedly testified through these local disciples that Paul should not go on to Jerusalem. These warnings, though distressing, only reinforce Paul's unwavering resolve to fulfill the ministry he received from the Lord. Despite the spiritual and physical dangers that clearly await him in the capital, Paul remains steadfast, pressing on to deliver the collected offerings to the saints and complete his mission.

"And when we had found the disciples, we stayed there seven days; and these were telling Paul through the Spirit not to set foot in Jerusalem. When our days there were ended, we left and started on our journey, while all of them, with their wives and children, accompanied us until we were outside the city."
— Acts 21:4-5
Timeline Box: This event immediately follows Paul's sea journey from Miletus (Acts 21:1-2) and marks his seven-day stay in Tyre during his third missionary journey, prior to his next leg of the journey to Jerusalem.
