Feast Of Booths Joyfully Celebrated In Jerusalem
On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, a wave of jubilation has swept through Jerusalem as the returned exiles celebrate the Feast of Booths (Sukkot). Following the dramatic public reading of the Law, the people constructed temporary shelters on their rooftops, in their courtyards, and in the courts of the house of God. With hearts full of gratitude, they are observing this joyous festival, remembering God's faithful provision during the wilderness wanderings and celebrating His presence in their restored city.
"Then they celebrated the Feast of Booths, as it is written, and offered the fixed number of burnt offerings daily according to the ordinance, each day’s requirement."
