The Great Deluge Intensifies Over A Sin Soaked Earth

On this day, three days after the heavens opened and the fountains of the great deep burst forth, the global deluge continued its relentless assault upon the earth. Waters rose steadily, covering the lowlands and soon engulfing all high places, fulfilling God's judgment against the pervasive wickedness of humanity. Inside the Ark, Noah, his family, and the animals were secure, a testament to God's covenant of preservation amidst universal destruction.

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life...on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.
— Genesis 7:11
Timeline Box: The deluge began on the seventeenth day of the second month (Cheshvan) in the 600th year of Noah's life, approximately 2348 BC. This date marks three days into the forty days of continuous rain.
