Ship Driven By Tempest Paul And Crew Cast Cargo Overboard
After the violent northeast gale, called Euraquilo, struck the ship carrying Paul towards Rome, the mariners found themselves unable to head into the wind. They were forced to give way and be driven by the storm's immense power, struggling to even get a small boat under control. The sheer force of the elements threatened to overwhelm them, pushing them further into the perilous open sea.
The following day, as the storm showed no signs of abating and the ship continued to be violently battered, the crew began to lighten the ship. Desperate to save themselves and the vessel, they started throwing the ship’s cargo overboard. On the third day, with their own hands, they cast out the ship's tackle, sacrificing valuable equipment in a desperate attempt to stay afloat and endure the relentless tempest, yet hope for salvation began to vanish.
