Obedience To God Secures Living In The Promised Land

During the foundational Mosaic Era, the Lord laid out statutes and judgments for Israel that promised security and sustenance in the Promised Land. He declared that if His people diligently observed and carried out His commands, they would not only live securely on the land but also enjoy its full bounty. This divine assurance meant the land would faithfully yield its fruit, allowing them to eat their fill without fear, fostering a deep reliance on God’s faithful provision rather than human effort alone, particularly significant as they prepared the ground for new crops in the autumn season.

So you shall carry out My statutes and keep My judgments and perform them, so that you may live securely on the land. Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live securely on it.
— Leviticus 25:18-19 LSB
