Rebuild The House Of God And Reflect On Your Ways

Decades after their return from Babylonian exile, the people of Judah had prioritized their own homes while the Temple of Yahweh lay in ruins. Through the prophet Haggai, God challenged them to consider their priorities. He commanded them to go to the mountains, bring timber, and rebuild His house, promising His pleasure and glory in their obedience. This call underscored the importance of diligent work and devotion to God's presence among them, reminding them that true blessing follows putting God first.

Thus says Yahweh of hosts, 'Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains, bring wood, and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,' says Yahweh.
— Haggai 1:7-8 LSB
