Paul Explains The Kingdom Of God To Roman Jews

After his initial meeting with the Jewish leaders in Rome, Paul arranged a more extensive gathering where he could fully explain his situation and the message he carried. On the appointed day, many came to his lodging, eager to hear from him directly. From morning until evening, Paul tirelessly expounded upon the Kingdom of God, making his case with persuasive arguments drawn from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

He sought to convince them concerning Jesus, presenting Him as the fulfillment of all that the Old Testament Scriptures foretold. While some were persuaded by Paul’s words, others remained unconvinced, leading to considerable disagreement among them. This encounter highlights the enduring division regarding the Messiah, even within the Jewish community in the heart of the Roman Empire, yet Paul continued his mission regardless.

And when they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in great numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening. And some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe.
— Acts 28:23-24 LSB
