Daily Manna Provided As Sustenance In Wilderness

Following their exodus from Egypt, the Israelites faced the harsh realities of the wilderness, often lacking food and water. In response to their grumbling, the Lord promised to rain down bread from heaven for them. He instructed Moses that the people should go out each morning to gather a day's portion, a miraculous provision that would test their obedience. This daily provision of manna, meaning 'What is it?', served as a profound demonstration of God's faithfulness and His direct involvement in sustaining His people, teaching them dependence on Him for their daily needs.

Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My law.'
— Exodus 16:4 LSB
Timeline Box: This event occurred in the wilderness of Sin, shortly after the Exodus from Egypt, approximately one month after leaving Egypt, traditionally dated around 1446 BC.
