The Earth Dries After The Great Deluge

After the torrential rains and the prevailing waters of the Great Flood, the ark had come to rest on the mountains of Ararat. Many months passed as the earth slowly dried from the immense deluge. On this twenty-sixth day of Cheshvan, the earth was on the verge of being completely dry, a full year and ten days after the flood waters first began to cover the land. The following day, the earth would be entirely parched, marking the moment when Noah and his family could finally emerge from the ark, symbolizing a new beginning for humanity.

And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
— Genesis 8:14 LSB
Timeline Box: According to ancient commentators like Josephus (Antiquities 1.3.3), the 'second month' referenced here (and in Genesis 7:11 for the start of the Flood) corresponds to the month of Marcheshvan/Cheshvan in the ancient civil calendar. Thus, 26 Cheshvan (the 8th month of the biblical sacred calendar, second month of the civil year) marks the day just before the earth was completely dry, a pivotal moment of new creation after the global deluge.
